4-H Junior Camp will be held July 24-28, 2016, and is for
youth ages 9-13 (as of Sept 30, 2016).
Youth from Caroline, King George and Spotsylvania Counties will be
camping together at the 4-H Center in Front Royal. Camp is a fun-filled educational experience
where youth will meet others, make friends, and have lots of fun.
In today’s
busy, electronically stimulated world, youth need a safe “time-out” to simply
relax and have fun. However, camp is
much more than a vacation or a place to enjoy nature—it is also a place to
learn, to grow, and to develop life skills.
Camping is
one of the most valuable learning experiences a youngster can have. Boys and girls learn to appreciate the
wonders and the majesty of the outdoors with others their own age. Camping offers: group living, learning to get
along with others, opportunity to acquire new skills, get to know people with
interests different from their own and the opportunity to make lasting
friendships.
4-H Camp
offers your child a fun, safe, and challenging experience. Top priority is given to the health, safety
and welfare of each camper. The Center
has a resident staff that is trained in areas such as: swimming instruction,
canoeing, shooting education, recreation, first aid and youth development.
Adult
volunteers, teen counselors, counselors-in-training and Extension personnel
from Caroline, King George, and Spotsylvania Counties attend to help supervise
campers and coordinate group activities.
